Honoured to Join the Scottish Team for Fabriano in Acquarello 2026!

Every so often, an opportunity arrives that feels like a true milestone — a moment that validates years of practice, persistence, and passion. Being selected to join the Scottish Team for Fabriano in Acquarello 2026 is exactly that kind of moment, and I’m absolutely delighted to share the news.

🌍 A Global Celebration of Watercolour

Fabriano in Acquarello isn’t just any art event. It’s one of the world’s largest and most respected international watercolour gatherings, bringing together over 90 national teams from across the globe. Artists, teachers, students, and enthusiasts converge in Italy to celebrate creativity, exchange ideas, and showcase the incredible diversity of watercolour as a medium.

To be part of this global tapestry — representing Scotland, no less — feels both humbling and exhilarating.

🏴 A Proud Moment for My Artistic Journey

Being chosen for the second time for the Scottish delegation, and representing South Africa once, means a great deal. Scotland has a rich artistic heritage, and its watercolour community is full of talent, innovation, and generosity. To stand alongside fellow Scottish artists on an international stage is an honour I don’t take lightly.

This selection reflects countless hours spent experimenting, refining techniques, and pushing myself creatively. Watercolour is a medium that rewards patience and courage — and challenges you to embrace unpredictability. Having that work recognised in such a prestigious setting is deeply meaningful.

Why Fabriano Matters

The town of Fabriano is steeped in artistic history. Known for its centuries‑old papermaking tradition, it’s a place where craft and creativity have intertwined for generations. During the convention, the town transforms into a vibrant hub of exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, and cultural exchange. Although I wont personally be attending the convention, its humbling to be part of the team representing Scotland at this event.
